My photos from yesterday's Glendale History Bike Tour are up on flickr. I'll write a longer post about it soon, but in short, the ride went very well and was really, really fun.
This is not really a post about the historic bike tour, but I couldn't find a spot to post a general post, so I will do so here.
In a few hours, I will no longer be the Mayor of Glendale, and I wanted to add to your growing list of interested readers while still the Mayor.
You do a great job with this site, and it continually reminds me of all of the varied and interesting things there are to do in Glendale.
We have a truly great city, and it is interesting to take a look at it through your eyes and those of your readers.
I will be sending you digitized copies of some interesting and rare black and white stills of Glendale which you and your readers have never seen before, such as Central Park when it still had all of its specimen trees long before the library, an interesting photo of the Hotel California, Bob's Big Boy on the corner of Broadway and Louise, etc.
Thanks for the kind words, and I can't wait to see the photos! I recently purchased a book of 17 postcards of Glendale from the teens to early 20s that I've scanned and will post soon as well.
