Coroner In Griffith Park?

I spotted four grim looking police vehicles near the Old Zoo while hiking in Griffith Park with the Sierra Club tonight. Upon closer inspection I realized it was the Clark County Coroner van and related vehicles...from CSI. There were no crew members near the vehicles.

There was also a giant shoot for Mad Men that displaced the Sierra Club from the upper merry-go-round parking lot.

Hey, I'm really enjoying your blog... been a frequent visitor for a while now. I've lived in Glendale all my life but I've practically learned more from your blog than all the time I've been here. Are the hikes every Tuesday & Thursday?

Thanks! Yes, the hikes are every Tuesday and Thursday. There is a hike Wednesday but it is more difficult, so start with the Tues/Thurs hikes. Just show up in the second parking lot above the merry-go-round at 6:45, sign a liability waiver card (first time only), and wait until the skill levels are called out. A level one hike is the easiest and six is the hardest. If you are in reasonably good shape, start with a level three. There is an older British gentleman named Ed who leads a slower paced level three hike. I recommend starting with him before trying anything more difficult.
