The Americana Bike Valet Rocks

When I biked over to The Americana this afternoon for Bamboo Nation (and ex-Everything Glendale) writer Prince Gomolvilas' blogger meet & greet, the Americana valet initially showed me to a newly installed rack in a semi-private area near the valet. I hadn't brought a lock, so they took my bike and gave me a claim ticket (for free). This guy in the photo below went out of his way to help me.

Anywhere you can valet-park your bike is both glamorous and progressive. You've almost got me convinced to move to Glendale.

I have to agree that the valet rocks! Always so helpful and pleasant, even when taking my heavy, not-so-easy to maneuver bike.

We use both the racks & the valet. The rack inside the loading dock of the Marc is mysterious--sometimes it's there (like on weekend mornings), sometimes it's not (weekday evenings).

Holy cow, a bike valet! I love this town.

Initially I was shown to the rack and I think the first valet said that they were using the rack on weekends, then I said I didn't bring a lock, and the other valet (pictured) offered to take my bike and gave me a ticket. There was some confusion but they were very nice.

See?! The Americana IS a little piece of heaven! (Just don't live there.)

This is great! When the American first opened my husband and I rode our bike over to the Americana for a movie. As we were walking our bike around trying to find a place to lock them up we were confronted and asked to take our bikes and lock them up on the other side of Brand! We were pretty upset that they didn't have even a single place to put them. We wrote an email to the American Staff asking for racks or something and didn't get a response. I can only hope that our email led up to this.
