The Americana: The Downside of Robocop
Glendale PD has a handful of $7,000 T3 Motion "Battery Powered Electric Security Vehicles". They enhance visible police presence, plus cops look cool riding it, as shown below:
And they're great for chasing down criminals...provided the criminal doesn't get crazy and start crossing curbs.

The Americana: Police Presence
The grand opening of the Americana today was protected by a huge number of Glendale PD officers. Here are some photos.
An accident at Brand & Broadway interrupted traffic at about 9:20.
Developer (and former L.A. Police Commission President) Rick Caruso greets the Glendale PD.
Glendale PD's MD-520N chopper flew in low circles over the Americana all day.
Motorcycle officers were at nearly every corner downtown giving out tickets left and right to pedestrians and motorists. I really like how this officer wedged an In 'N Out cup into the frame of his motorcycle.
